Special Events and Organizations

Thank you for your interest in visiting or giving to Children’s Memorial Hermann! We are lucky to have such an amazing level of interest from community partners like you who share our passion for providing a great experience for the patients and families that we serve.

Our priority is to ensure the health and safety of the patients and families in our care.  

As such, we have established the following guidelines for all special event requests:

  • Group size is limited to 5 individuals
  • All members must be over 18 years
  • Group members may be asked to show proof of COVID 19 vaccination
  • All items being distributed must meet our Donation Guidelines listed below
  • Prepare to host event/visit for 30-50 patients

If your group meets these guidelines, please submit a Special Event Request Form. Please allow 3-5 business days after submission for us to review and process your request. Although we would love to, unfortunately we are unable to safely accommodate every request. Please keep in mind that submitting a request does not guarantee approval. We ask that all Special Event Requests must be submitted at least 30 days prior to desired date to allow enough time for us to prepare and plan for the appropriate support.

Donations

Thank you for your generosity and interest in donating to our patients! We have established the following guidelines for all in-kind gifts and donations. Please keep in mind that items that do not meet the below described guidelines may not be accepted. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your donation, please call the Children’s Volunteer Services office at (713) 704-2066 or email TMCVolunteerSpecialEvents@memorialhermann.org. For ideas on items to donate and for an up-to-date list of items we are currently in need of, please view Our Wish List or shop from our Amazon Gift List.

When you are ready, please complete a Donation Request Form. Once received, we will verify that the items you are interested in donating meet our guidelines, determine the needs of the patients, and organize storage space. Please allow us 3-5 business days to review and process your request. Keep in mind that we have a limited amount of storage space available, submitting a request does not guarantee approval. Donation drop-off’s can be scheduled Monday – Friday between 9AM and 4PM.

Donation Guidelines

  • All items must be brand new, unwrapped and in its original packaging.
  • Food, candy, or any other edible donations may not be accepted.
  • Be cautious of choking hazards. As a standard, items smaller than the size of a quarter may not be accepted.
  • No glitter (loose or otherwise)
  • To be sensitive to the safety and wellbeing of all of our patients and medical staff, nerf/toy guns, remote controlled toys, and scented items may not be accepted.
  • Memorial Hermann is a non-denominational organization that understands that our patients have various religious backgrounds and beliefs. As such, we do not accept items of a religious nature.
  • We want to make sure that we are sensitive to our patient’s medical conditions. We ask that you refrain from using messaging such as “Get Well Soon”. Keep messaging uplifting and bright such as “Thinking of You”, “You’re Great!”, and “Hope this Brightens your Day!
  • Our patients range in age from newborn to adult.
