Annie and Pilot, Facility Dogs at TIRR Memorial Hermann, delivered holiday ornaments and stickers along with hope and cheer to some of our most complex patients.
Annie, a golden retriever, and Pilot, a black lab/golden retriever mix, play an integral role in the recovery of these patients, some of whom have endured traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and other life-altering conditions.
While Annie and Pilot, along with handlers Tara Haas and Renee Lee, spread holiday cheer, they also assist in therapy sessions, providing remarkable physical, emotional, and psychological benefits for these patients. And it brings a smile to the faces of patients’ families as well.
Not only that, but TIRR Memorial Hermann staff love seeing Annie and Pilot while on the job. The pups were happy to interact with hospital staff during their festive stroll.
