Former patients of Children’s Memorial Hermann had a sweet delivery for current patients and staff spending Valentine’s Day in the hospital.
Young members of the Children’s Patient Advisory Council dropped off “PALentine’s” to the hospital’s pediatric and neonatal units. The advisory group consists entirely of current and former patients age 18 and younger, each of whom know what it’s like to be in the hospital. They were excited to deliver treats and smiles to current patients, and to greet many nurses and staff who have cared for them, too. The group advises the hospital on ways they can enhance the patient experience for both children and adults.
For current patients, it was a special opportunity to interact with other children who have been in their shoes and want to give back to the hospital that helped them.
