Memorial Hermann Health System has successfully executed its transition to a single, integrated electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle management system. The Epic system is live across each of the health system’s hospitals and more than 250 care delivery sites.
Epic brings registration, scheduling and billing into a single system, making it easier for patients to find a physician and schedule their appointments. Because it also helps with hospital and physician coding, patients will now receive a single billing statement across the organization – spanning both professional services and hospital fees. In addition, the new system provides a more centered focus on the patient’s journey across the care continuum, improving interoperability and helping to strengthen the relationship between patients and their health care providers.
The transition to Epic also brings with it a new patient portal, My Memorial Hermann™, which provides a seamless digital experience for patients, helping them connect to their care faster and making it easier to manage their health, all in one place, at their fingertips.
