Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute offers two post-graduate residency programs to develop advanced practitioners in the fields of orthopedic and sports physical therapy. The programs afford residents unmatched access to unique learning opportunities, with over 150 hours of one-on-one clinical mentorship with board-certified and fellowship-trained clinicians. Our residency programs are 13 months long and begin yearly in August.
The orthopedic physical therapy residency program is designed to graduate innovators and leaders in best practice that are prepared to obtain board certification in orthopedic physical therapy. The 13-month program is focused on developing advanced practice, teaching and mentoring, research, and leadership and is structured in accordance to the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education requirements.
We offer a 54-week program which includes a wide range of clinical and didactic experiences across the lifespan within The Texas Medical Center and surrounding community hospitals. This collaborative program provides licensed physical therapists the ability to enhance their skills while working with clinical experts in the area of acute care physical therapy and academia of a major educational institution.
