Program Overview

The Woodlands Medical Center Pharmacy Preceptors and ResidentsThe PGY1 Residency program at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is a one-year postgraduate training program with ASHP accreditation status. By design, the program provides residents with the necessary skills to practice as a Clinical Pharmacist, in an acute-care setting, by rotating the residents through a variety of practice areas.

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center campus is a 457-bed, specialized, complex, full-service, medical care facility. While the program focuses on enhancing patient care skills, residents will have the opportunity to develop their teaching and precepting skills through the University of Houston College of Pharmacy’s teaching certification program and their various rotations with students during their clinical clerkships. Residents are required to complete a continuing education presentation and major research project which can be based on their interests and availability. By providing residents with the flexibility to directly design their residency year schedule, it encourages them to pursue their professional interests, all while becoming a well-rounded clinician.
