This hospital is also recognized by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Our skilled stroke teams are comprised of affiliated neurologists, interventional vascular neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language pathologists and social workers. Memorial Hermann Southwest offers state-of-the art treatment for any type of acute ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke as well as subarachnoid hemorrhage. Our team has a wide-array of treatment options including clot dissolving medication, and mechanical thrombectomy which greatly improve outcomes and long term recovery.
Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital has undergone rigorous surveys in which stroke specialists reviewed the hospital’s compliance with stringent Comprehensive Stroke Center standards and requirements, including specific publicly shared stroke outcomes. In 2023, the hospital experienced no stroke complications for patients undergoing a carotid endarterectomy (surgical procedure that restores normal blood flow through the arteries that carry blood to your brain that may be blocked due to a build-up of fatty deposits/plaque).
