Memorial Hermann recognizes that excellence involves caring for the whole patient – the body, mind and spirit. Professional chaplains are available at each hospital to offer both spiritual and emotional support to cancer patients and their families.
As a professional resource, hospital chaplains understand the needs and concerns of cancer patients and help them cope with emotional and spiritual challenges. Chaplaincy services may include supporting patients and families through listening compassionately, helping each identify spiritual and emotional needs through counseling and conversation and accompanying them through the healing process. The chaplain may offer conversation, scripture, faith rituals and/or prayer and can help them find spiritual and religious resources from their individual tradition as requested. Please notify the nursing staff if you would like a visit from the chaplain.
