Our goal is to make your visit or stay as safe, pleasant and convenient as possible. Here you’ll find the information for your visit.
In an effort to address community health, Memorial Hermann Memorial City is a tobacco-free campus. Tobacco use is not permitted inside or on the grounds outside the hospital or the surrounding medical plazas and parking garages.
Memorial Hermann Health System prohibits discrimination in visitation based on age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression.
For over 50 years, the residents of west Houston have trusted Memorial Hermann Memorial City for exceptional patient care. The Patient Guide is a useful tool for patients and their family members or caregivers to reference during and after their stay.
The Patient Guide is also available in each patient room.
Memorial Hermann is committed to providing free medical interpretation and translation services for patients and visitors who communicate in a language other than English, or those who are visually or hearing impaired.
The quality of care you receive is very important to us. The Patient Relations Department is available to assist you with any questions, concerns or grievances you may have during your stay. You can reach the Patient Relations Department by calling 713-242-2020.
There are various levels of care in which patients may be treated, depending upon the severity of their condition. Throughout a patient's stay, he or she may receive care in more than one unit as changes in condition occur.
Intensive care units, or ICUs, provide comprehensive and continuous care to our most critical patients. The Surgical ICU (SICU) and Medical ICU (MICU) at Memorial Hermann Memorial City have been awarded with gold-level and silver-level Beacon Awards for Excellence, respectively, by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). These awards exemplify our commitment to excellent performance and patient outcomes.
Memorial Hermann Memorial City also houses the only dedicated neuroscience ICU in west Houston, integrating the entire spectrum of acute to critical care. With 19 beds dedicated to intensive neurosciences care, the unit provides a carefully coordinated continuum of care for critically ill patients from admission to discharge.
The Kate Lindig Neonatal ICU (NICU) at Children’s Memorial Hermann Memorial City is a Level III NICU offering exceptional clinical care for high-risk newborns as early as 23 week’s gestation.
When a patient's condition becomes more stable, he or she may be transferred to a different level of care, most commonly to an intermediate care unit, or IMU.
A patient may be admitted directly to one of our acute care units or may be transferred from one of the ICUs as their condition improves. Your caregiver team can provide additional information and specific guidelines about what to expect in the unit where you or your loved one is receiving care.
After receiving treatment, you may require copies of your medical records. For more information about how to obtain a copy of your medical record, visit the Release of My Medical Records page.
As a patient receiving services Memorial Hermann Memorial City, you are ultimately responsible for the charges associated with your treatment and care. We will send you a summary patient statement following your discharge.

If you have a question or wish to request an itemized statement, please contact Patient Business Services/Customer Service by calling (713) 338-5502, or sending an email to patient.billing@memorialhermann.org. Memorial Hermann believes strongly in including patients’ loved ones in the healing process. When friends, family members, and caregivers work together, patients often experience a higher level of safe, quality care that can lead to a faster recovery process and a shorter hospital stay.
Visitors are designated by the patient and may include, but are not limited to, a spouse, a domestic partner, another family member, or a friend. The patient has the right to withdraw or deny such consent at any time. Memorial Hermann will not restrict, limit, or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, color, national origin, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression.
While each unit may have specific visitation guidelines appropriate for its level of care, hospital visitation guidelines are as follows:
