Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center is accredited as a comprehensive center with adolescent qualifications by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). MBSAQIP, a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), is dedicated to improving the quality and safety of surgical care for patients undergoing metabolic and bariatric procedures.

Our clinic offers convenient, free parking and easy access. At Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, we have a dedicated area of private rooms and specially trained nurses and staff attuned to the specific needs of weight loss surgery patients. We also offer robotic-assisted surgery, which simplifies a number of existing procedures, making them less invasive and decreasing recovery time.

What Makes the NewStart Program Different?
No obligation insurance verification. Let our insurance expert review your policy. She will find out what level of coverage you have, your deductible, a close estimate of out-of-pocket costs and what your insurance company requires. If you do not have insurance coverage, low-interest financing options may be available.
Perform all weight loss surgery options including the most difficult revisions and reversals. Affiliated surgeons and nurses provide a full range of surgery options, including gastric banding (lap band), gastric sleeve, gastric bypass and duodenal switch. We also offer surgery to revise or reverse previous bariatric procedures.
Comprehensive patient support. Our support team includes dietitians, psychological counselors and experienced bariatric nurses who work closely with each patient to address eating behavior, metabolism, self-esteem, body image and relationship changes. Peer support groups, educational speakers and insurance experts are also available to help patients throughout the program.
