The Trauma and Emergency Center at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center is equipped to meet the needs of patients with conditions ranging from minor injuries and illnesses to major trauma. The Center is a certified Level I pediatric trauma center, providing the highest level of trauma care available. As the only Level I pediatric trauma center caring for children in the Texas Gulf Coast region, Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital provides 24-hour-a-day care to over 18,000 children in emergency situations each year.
Seven beds are dedicated to pediatrics, and the Center has separate pediatric waiting and triage areas. The Children's Transport Team at Children's Memorial Hermann provides specialized emergency pediatric and neonatal transport services for patients from infants to 16 years of age around the clock, 365 days a year.
Our transport capabilities ensure that children whose parents take them to local, regional, national and international hospitals can be quickly transferred to a hospital within the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. The Children's Transport Team is led by pediatric and neonatal intensive care physicians.The team routinely transports some of the most critically ill infants and premature babies including those born as early as 23 weeks' gestation and weighing as little as one pound. More than 40 percent of Children's Transport Team patients in 2006 were transported by Memorial Hermann Life Flight air ambulance service. Life Flight allows us to quickly get patients the resources they need - at a time when minutes can be precious.

Follow the hallway until you pass Café Hermann on your right. Immediately after the café, take the hallway to your right. Proceed down the stairway or ramp, into the Atrium. Valet: Enter the hospital and continue ahead, passing Admissions/Registration. To reach Pediatric Emergency Room, take the long hallway located directly across the Atrium from the hallway, on the right side. The hall on your right includes a red, overhead sign saying "Emergency Center." That is your path from the Atrium. Just passed the red sign, the Pediatric Emergency Room will be ahead on your left.
Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza Garage: From the second floor of the Medical Plaza, follow the hallway passed Au Bon Pain and continue straight until you see the Skybridge on your left. Take the Skybridge across for access to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, which includes Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. After crossing the Skybridge, follow the hallway until you can turn right. Walk passed Red's Cafe on the Go and continue ahead until you pass Brioche Doree cafe. Follow the hallway on the far side of Brioche Doree, passed Children's Day Surgery. To your left, take the walkway to the elevator lobby then go to the 1st floor. Exit to the Atrium and turn left. The hallway to the Emergency Center is around the corner. Look for a red, overhead sign saying "Emergency Center." That is your path from the Atrium. Just passed the red sign, the Pediatric Emergency Room will be ahead on your left.
