Rebecca graduated with a BA in Communications from The University of Alabama. She received her M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains and a Certified Educator with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. She has worked in the field of hospital chaplaincy for more than twenty years.

Rebecca worked as a chaplain and chaplain manager in the Baylor Health Care System for ten years before becoming and ACPE Certified Educator. She served as the ACPE Certified Educator for the University of Virginia Health System. Rebecca was also a member of the UVA Clinical Ethics Consult team and served as a co-facilitator for new medical students in the Foundations of Clinical Medicine class. Rebecca has a passion for pastoral care and for teaching others how to care for those in spiritual and emotional distress.

Rebecca is married to Rob Adrian who is also a Board Certified Chaplain. They have one adult daughter, Hannah, and two canine children, Maggie Mae and Wyatt.

Sarah received her MDiv from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA and her BA in Religious Studies (magna cum laude) from the University of Kansas. Sarah’s faith background is Episcopalian, and she is an experienced health care and school chaplain as well as an ACPE Certified Educator. She currently resides in Houston with her family and remains a stalwart Jayhawks fan.

Sarah comes from the Seminary of the Southwest, where she pioneered CPE programs utilizing a combination of in-person and distance learning, gaining provisional ACPE accreditation within five months of her start there. Sarah has a passion for teaching, innovation and collaboration as she served in various national and regional roles with ACPE, including Chair of ACPE Curriculum Committee, Founding Convener on Community of Practice for Educators Utilizing Distance Learning, ACPE Redesign Task Force, National Site Team Chair, Southwest Regional Accreditation Committee and ACPE Regional Network and Communications Committee. Sarah has extensive experience teaching and speaking around the country and has served as keynote and guest lecturer for the following:

Before joining the faculty of the Seminary of the Southwest, Sarah served as an ACPE Educator at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. During her tenure at St. Luke’s, Sarah published “CPE Supervisor’s Response to Experience and Application of the Faith of a Muslim CPE Student,” in Plainviews.
