Before completing his medical degree at Rush University Medical School in Chicago, Dr. Devang Parikh earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in medical sciences at Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center, followed by fellowships in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a fellowship in structural cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Parikh specializes in interventional cardiology and treatment of valve disease, particularly minimally invasive ways of treating valve conditions. He is board certified in four areas: internal medicine, interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease and echocardiography.
His clinical interests focus on minimally invasive treatment of heart disease in general, utilizing stent placement, valve repair or valve replacement rather than open heart surgery. He speaks Spanish, Hindi and Gujarati fluently.
Dr. Parikh sees himself as a guide for his patients, providing them with knowledge and counseling about the latest treatments and therapeutics available to help them achieve their goals.
