Akuvi Elhor Gbito, MSN, RN, FNP-C

Akuvi Elhor Gbito, MSN, RN, FNP-C, family nurse practitioner at Memorial Hermann Medical Group Pearland, received both her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Nursing.

Fluent in French, Akuvi sees patients from 2 years old to adults and has a special interest in wellness and preventive medicine with an emphasis on early detection and treatment of various chronic diseases.

Akuvi describes her style as caring and compassionate and says that taking care of others was something she wanted to do all her life. While growing up in Togo, West Africa, she discovered the most rewarding way to help people was to work in the health care field. After practicing a few years as an RN Akuvi felt the need to return to school for the more advanced M.S.N.-FNP degree to enable her to diagnose, evaluate and treat patients.

When away from work, Akuvi enjoys spending time with her family, cooking African meals and traveling.
