Sabih T. Effendi, MD, a fellowship trained cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon, has joined Mischer Neuroscience Associates at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. He will serve as Stroke Medical Director for the hospital.

Dr. Effendi grew up in The Woodlands and attended Oakridge High School. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2010 and went on to complete his neurological surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he received the Kinjiro Iwata Award for Excellence and Leadership.
Dr. Effendi has extensive clinical expertise in cortical/subcortical brain mapping and minimally invasive cranial, skull base, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery. His clinical interests also include: stroke and carotid disease; brain, pituitary and spinal tumors; awake craniotomy; cerebral and spinal angiograms; brain and spine aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs); intracranial atherosclerotic disease; gliomas, meningiomas, pituitary adenomas; epilepsy surgery; trigeminal neuralgia; and Chiari malformation.
