General Information

The Fetal Center specializes in high-risk pregnancy care, maternal-fetal medicine, prenatal testing, fetal diagnosis and fetal treatment.

Parking Information

The University of Texas Health Science Center Professional Building parking garage is located immediately south of the building at 6414 Fannin Street. A breezeway connects the parking garage to the professional building. The parking garage is accessible both from South Main and Fannin Streets. Cost ranges from $2.00-$10.00 and is subject to change.

Valet parking is also available at The University of Texas Health Science Center Professional Building. Access valet parking from the Main Street side of the building. Cost ranges from $5.00-$10.00 and is subject to change.

Texas Medical Center parking garages are available throughout the medical center. Cost ranges from $2.00-$10.00 and is subject to change. The following TMC garages are within easy walking distance of The University of Texas Health Science Center Professional Building:

If you are planning to park at the Texas Medical Center for five or more days in a row, economical parking pass passes may be purchased at the Memorial Hermann Hospital Cashier's Office, Fannin Street entrance, first level. Economical remote parking is available as a park-and-ride option using METRORail. Adjacent to the Fannin South METRORail station, parking is available for $2.00 per day. Ride METRORail to the Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo station, directly across the street from The University of Texas Health Science Center Professional Building. METRORail departs approximately every 6 minutes from 4:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and less frequently on nights and weekends. One-way, the ride takes approximately 12 minutes.

From the second floor of the Medical Plaza, follow the hallway past Au Bon Pain and continue straight. You will pass the Skybridge to your left; continue ahead at this intersection, following signs for the UT Professional Building. Continue following the hallway until you reach the intersection. To your right, just down the hall, The Fetal Center entrance will be present.

Public Transportation

METRORail is the primary mode of public transportation within the Texas Medical Center. The METRORail line runs from downtown Houston to south of Reliant Park with departures approximately every 6 minutes from 4:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and less frequently on nights and weekends. A day pass for both METRORail and METROBus, good for 24 hours, costs $2.00 and is subject to change. METRO offers discount fares to children, middle and high school students, persons with disabilities and senior citizens.

METROBus lines connect directly to METRORail at 16 stations along the 7.5 mile METRORail line. Additionally, the following bus lines stop within one block of The University of Texas Health Science Center Professional Building:

Transfers are free with a paid fare if used on equal or lesser cost service and are good for three hours from the time of purchase and cannot be used for return trips. They must be obtained at the time the fare is paid. If transferring to a higher cost service, the full fare should be paid on the first bus. METROLift offers curb-to-curb transportation for persons with disabilities who are unable to ride regular METROBus or METRORail service. For information, call (713) 225-0119.

Taxi services offer pickup and delivery service to all points in the Texas Medical Center and both airports. Many taxi companies accept reservations up to 30 days in advance and can accommodate wheelchair needs. Contact the taxi company of your choice for additional information.
