Dr. Gavin Wagenheim, MD

Gavin N. Wagenheim, MD, was raised in Houston, Texas, after moving from Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1987. He attended Bellaire High School and received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin. He returned to Houston for his medical training at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He then completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at McGovern Medical School and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he served as chief resident from 2015 to 2016.

Board certified in urology, Dr. Wagenheim treats patients 18 years and older for the complete range of general urologic issues. His clinical interests include benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and voiding dysfunction, stone disease treatment, robotic applications in urology, and Peyronie’s disease.

Dr. Wagenheim has received extensive training in urologic prosthetic implantation for erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence, as well as in cutting-edge techniques such as intravesical Botox® or InterStim® for voiding dysfunction, and UroLift® for BPH.

Dr. Wagenheim performs robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery for urologic conditions such as ureteropelvic junction obstruction and ureteral reimplantation as well as kidney and prostate cancer, using the da Vinci® robotic surgical system.

In his spare time, Dr. Wagenheim enjoys spending time with his family, watching Houston professional and University of Texas sports teams, and sampling all of the great local restaurants.
