Dr. Daniel Phillips earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and his medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He completed his residency in urology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
He treats patients for urologic conditions including kidney stones, urinary problems (men’s and women’s), cancers of the urinary tract and men’s sexual health issues. His primary clinical interest is minimally invasive robotic surgery, which allows him to treat conditions like enlarged prostate or cancers of the urinary tract in a way that can decrease post-operative pain and improve the patient experience.
Because Dr. Phillips often deals with delicate or difficult-to-discuss areas, he works to make patients comfortable and at ease. He applies the most up-to-date evidence-based medicine to help them solve their particular problems.
Dr. Phillips is a member of the American Urologic Association, Society of International Urology and Texas Medical Association and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Tennessee.
In his leisure time, he enjoys playing the clarinet, cooking and building computers.
