Dr. Suyearn Yu, MD

Dr. Suyearn Hong Yu earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she also completed her internship and residency. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Yu has been treating patients from newborn to 18 years of age since 2009. Her clinical interests include newborn care and breastfeeding. She also speaks Korean and Spanish.

Dr. Yu enjoys building long-lasting relationships with her patients and their families and considers it a privilege to be able to watch their children grow up. Dr. Yu takes a special interest in discussing newborn care and the nutritional and developmental benefits of breastfeeding with the patients’ parents.

Her patients’ families consider her to be knowledgeable, compassionate and approachable. They appreciate her good bedside manner and the support she provides in helping them to be more confident in the care of their children.

Dr. Yu strives to create a practice with a small-town feel, where the doctors and staff know each family and patient by name. She strongly believes that raising kids truly does take a village.

A resident of Cypress, Dr. Yu and her husband have three children and two fur babies, a bunny and a teddy bear puppy. When not caring for her patients, Dr. Yu enjoys traveling to new places, trying new foods, reading and exploring the parks and trails around her neighborhood with her family. A proud mom, she also enjoys cheering her son at wrestling meets and watching her daughters’ dance performances.
