Dr. Gaile Vitug, DO

After graduating with honors from the University of Texas at Dallas with her bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology, Gaile Vitug, DO, went on to complete her medical degree at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. Prior to medical school, Dr. Vitug also completed a master’s degree in medical science. She completed her pediatric residency at UT Health San Antonio Medical School, where she received the award for Best First Year Resident.

Dr. Vitug treats patients from newborn to early adulthood for sick visits, as well as preventive medicine, such as immunizations and wellness checkups. Her special interests include nutrition and developmental pediatrics. With the obesity epidemic rising in our population, teaching children healthy dietary choices and exercise has been one of her clinical interests. She also feels it is important to understand different perspectives and works to establish individual nutrition and exercise plans for each patient.

Patients in the Sugar Land area enjoy her enthusiasm and compassion; she is very excited to return as a pediatrician to the community that helped raise her. Dr. Vitug is an advocate of evidence-based medicine. She continues to stay up-to-date on current research to help educate her families to make the best decisions for their health. She enjoys open discussions with her patients and their families and encourages a team-based approach when caring for her patients.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and trying new restaurants and cuisines.
