Dr. Aliya Sehar Ahmed earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the renowned Aga Khan University’s Faculty of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her internship and pediatrics residency at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, as part of the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston’s residency program.
Board certified in general pediatrics, Dr. Ahmed specializes in adolescent health, allergic rhinitis, asthma, contact dermatitis, insect bites, nutrition, obesity, physical exams and preventive medicine. She speaks English, Hindu, Spanish and Urdu.
Dr. Ahmed’s passion for her work is evident to her patients. She became a pediatrician due to her desire to give back to her community and her love for children of all ages and backgrounds. Regardless of a child’s needs, Dr. Ahmed is committed to offering quality, compassionate care.
In 2010 and 2012, Dr. Ahmed was the recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Award from Vitals.com. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
In her free time, Dr. Ahmed enjoys reading and gardening. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her husband, children and family.
