Pediatric cardiology interventionalist Dr. Matthew Brown earned his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Children's Mercy Hospital-University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in pediatric cardiology and interventional cardiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin-Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Brown, who is board certified in pediatric cardiology, is a fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He has been in practice since 2008 and speaks Spanish. He treats patients up to 18 years old, as well as adults with congenital heart defects. His primary clinical interests are pediatric cardiology, congenital heart defects and pediatric and congenital interventional cardiac catheterization.

An associate professor of pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Brown also serves as quality improvement director of the pediatric/congenital cardiac catheterization laboratories at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, and see patients at UT Physicians clinics.

He offers personal, individualized care for patients whose conditions range from murmurs to the most complex congenital heart defects. He provides interventions in the catheterization lab and works closely with pediatric cardiovascular surgeons on hybrid procedures to minimize invasiveness and improve outcomes.

He takes time to know his patients and loves to watch them improve and grow.

Dr. Brown is married and the father of four children. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family, road cycling, performing in triathlons, playing guitar and bass guitar and enjoying outdoor activities of all types.
