Dr. Sharif Palmer, MD

Dr. Sharif Palmer is board certified in both Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He earned his medical degree at The University of Queensland Medical School-Ochsner Clinical School, Brisbane, Australia, and New Orleans. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and a fellowship in pain medicine at MetroHealth/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Dr. Palmer’s background in rehabilitation is particularly valuable in chronic pain cases, giving him a variety of tools for helping patients beyond traditional pain management. His holistic approach to treatment considers the entire person, looking beyond symptoms to locate the root of a problem.

His patients appreciate that he takes time to get to know them and gather input, makes sure they understand their condition and includes them as part of the treatment team along with clinical staff and referring physicians.
