Dr. John Munz  graduated magna cum laude, with a degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in College Station. He received his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. He then completed his fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the University of Washington Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Munz specializes in orthopedic trauma. His clinical interests include periarticular fractures and dislocations, fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum, malunions/nonunions, periprosthetic fractures, infections, and treatment of the polytraumatized patient.

A published author and presenter at medical conferences, Dr. Munz is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.  A faculty member at McGovern Medical School, he has been recognized for excellence in teaching for his work with medical students, residents, and fellows locally and nationally.

Dr. Munz lives in Bellaire.
