Dr. Andrew Choo earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed a residency at Seton Hall School of Health and Medical Services in New Jersey, a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and an additional fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Choo, who has been in practice since 2005, is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He specializes in orthopedic trauma with an emphasis on the management of both acute and chronic fractures; shoulder and elbow injuries, including fractures and dislocations; arthritis; and tendon and ligament tears. 

His primary clinical interests are adolescent orthopedics, ankle injuries, ankle joint replacement, ankle problems, arthritis, arthritis of the hand, arthritis surgery, arthroscopic surgery, back pain, bone spurs, children’s foot problems, collateral ligament surgery (Tommy John surgery), deuce bicompartmental knee, direct anterior approach hip replacement, dysplasia, early knee intervention, growth plate fractures, hairline fractures, hip dysplasia, hip resurfacing, MAKO robot, orthopedic robot, partial hip replacement, pediatric sports medicine, total hip replacement, wrist fractures, wrist injuries, wrist pain and wrist problems. 

Dr Choo also serves as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
