Dr. Robert Mohr, MD

Dr. R. Alexander Mohr earned his undergraduate degree at Utah State University and his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he also did a 5-year residency in orthopedics. He completed an orthopedic spine fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. 

Dr. Mohr, who is board certified in orthopedic surgery, specializes in surgical treatment of spinal disorders including disc degeneration, spinal trauma, sports-related spine issues and scoliosis. He is trained in non-surgical and surgical (including minimally invasive procedures) management of most spinal pathology. 

A devoted sports enthusiast, Dr. Mohr enjoys working with athletes to help return them to sport after sports-related spinal injuries. In addition to his practice, he trains other physicians in complex spinal procedures, minimally invasive techniques and procedure planning.

Dr. Mohr is a member of the North American Spine Society and the Lumbar Spine Research Society. Prior to moving to the Houston area, he served as director of the Division of Orthopedic Spine Surgery at the University of Connecticut and assistant director of the New England Musculoskeletal Institute’s Comprehensive Spine Center.
