Dr. Megan May earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She went on to complete fellowships in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and sports medicine at The Ohio State University.

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. May specializes in both pediatric and adult orthopedics, with a focus on sports medicine. With her extensive experience treating children, she understands the unique needs of young patients, both physically and emotionally, when treating their orthopedic injuries.

Dr. May is dedicated to keeping patients of all ages active and in the game, from football to gardening. Her clinical interests include pediatric fractures, general pediatric and adult orthopaedics, sports injuries, ACL and meniscus injuries, cartilage injuries, patellar instability, osteochondritis dissecans and women’s sports medicine.

Her passion for orthopedics was inspired by her own injuries as a competitive athlete. As a Division I soccer player at the University of Kentucky, she saw firsthand the toll knee injuries can take on female athletes. Now a weekend warrior herself, Dr. May understands the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle at any age.

Dr. May holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with family, traveling, and playing golf and tennis.
