Dr. Joseph (Jay) Muscat is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with added qualifications in sports medicine as well asd an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Muscat received a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his internship, research in the biochemical analysis of fracture healing and orthopedic residency in San Antonio. During his time in San Antonio, he completed his internship and orthopedic residency as well as research in the biochemical analysis of fracture healing.
Dr. Muscat treats both adult and pediatric patients. With an added specialty in sports medicine, he treats a variety of conditions including arthritis, acute traumatic injuries, and degenerative conditions.
In addition to being an orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor, Dr. Muscat is the team physician for Splendora, Kingwood, Kingwood Park, and Huffman High Schools. In addition, he was a team physician for the United States and International men and women’s hockey teams during the 2002 Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City.
