A professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Marchena is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also the vice president of Smile Bangladesh, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing cleft lip and palate repair operations in rural Bangladesh.
