Dr. Mirwat Sami, MD

Dr. Mirwat Sami earned her medical degree at Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, her residency at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and a fellowship in ophthalmology and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Plastic Eye Surgery Associates in Houston.

Dr. Sami, who has been in practice since 2002, is board certified in ophthalmology. Her primary clinical interests are eyelid and facial cosmetic surgery, eyelid malposition correction, skin cancer removal and reconstruction, tear drain surgery, treatment of blepharospasm and hemifacial spasms, thyroid eye disease, orbital tumors and reconstructive surgery for facial trauma.

During her medical training, Dr. Sami was involved in the surgical reconstruction of complex facial trauma and burn victims, contributing to her a sense of aesthetics combined with a keen surgical eye to detail and safety.

Dr. Sami, who is married to an interventional cardiologist, is the mother of three children. Her family enjoys traveling, swimming and playing tennis.
