Dr. Marybeth Keiser Farazdaghi earned her medical degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed an internship in internal medicine, a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

Dr. Farazdaghi, who is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, sees pediatric patients up to age 18 and adults with strabismus and double vision.

Her primary clinical interests are pediatric and adult strabismus (eye misalignment), adjustable strabismus surgery, double vision, amblyopia, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, refractive error (glasses), retinopathy of prematurity and congenital eye abnormalities.

Dr. Farazdaghi focuses on patient-centered, relationship-driven care. She believes shared decision-making and partnership between a physician and family are crucial in pediatric ophthalmology. Her practice is characterized by high-level subspeciality expertise combined with deliberately compassionate care.

Her patients appreciate her ability to listen intently and her ability to explain complex medical conditions in clear terms.

She is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She serves as Associate Program Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Program at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Dr. Farazdaghi enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, gardening and staying active with her husband and two children.
