Dr. Woondong Jeong, MD

Woondong Jeong, MD, earned his medical degree at the Catholic University of Korea College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea. He then moved to Valhalla, New York, where he completed an internal medicine residency and served as chief fellow during his hematology and medical oncology fellowship with New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center. Dr. Jeong went on to complete an advanced fellowship, where he trained in the Advanced Developmental Therapeutics Training Program (ADTTP) of the Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland.

Board certified in hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Jeong cares for patients living in Cleveland, Conroe, Crosby, Cypress, Dodge, Houston, Huffman, Hufsmith, Humble, Huntsville, Magnolia, New Caney, New Waverly, North Houston, Pinehurst, Porter, Shepherd, Spring and Tomball.

According to Dr. Jeong, the meaning of his name Woondong is exercise, sport, movement or campaign, which represents his belief in the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. He stresses to patients that exercise can assist in fighting cancer and is significant to a person’s overall health and wellbeing. He understands that motivation and daily dedication can be difficult to maintain, and is known to give his patients exercise prescriptions, which can be just as important as taking prescribed medications.

Dr. Jeong is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH). He served as an assistant professor at UT Health San Antonio.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Jeong enjoys being outside playing sports, especially soccer. He also loves hiking in the mountains.

Dr. Jeong is fluent in Korean.
