After completing an undergraduate degree in biology and sociology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a Master of Public Health in social behavior and community health at the State University of New York at Albany, Dr. Vanessa Sarfoh earned her medical degree from Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, N.Y. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and further training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at The Center for Innovative GYN Care in Rockville, MD.
Dr. Sarfoh, who is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, sees patients aged 12 years and older. In addition to her board certification, she is a Menopause Society Credentialed Provider. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She sees women for prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care and manages a variety of gynecological conditions including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), bleeding disorders and fibroids. She has particular interests in perimenopausal and menopausal care and contraception.
Her approach to care is to create a welcoming environment where women feel they can open up. Her goal is to listen first, educate women about their medical conditions, and ultimately work together to create a treatment plan.
