Dr. Tamika Cross, MD

Dr. Tamika Cross earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn. She completed her obstetrics & gynecology internship at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in Toledo, Ohio, and completed her obstetrics & gynecology residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. Dr. Cross treats patients ages 15 and up.

Dr. Cross provides prenatal care and cares for patients needing contraception or treatment of fibroids. She also provides adolescent gynecological care and minimally invasive surgeries.

Her patients describe Dr. Cross as warm, compassionate, knowledgeable, transparent, honest and approachable. These characteristics are reflected in the multi-generation families that rely on and trust in her care. In addition, her patients enjoy the continuity of care provided by Dr. Cross and her team. She speaks Spanish.

Among her professional accomplishments include serving as administrative chief resident and being honored with the Outstanding Resident of the Year Award at McGovern Medical School. In addition, she earned the following acknowledgments: McGovern Medical School ‘s Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology McGovern Medical School Faculty Senate’s Resolution for Dedication to Service and Discrimination Faced by Minorities in Medicine, Becker Hospital Review’s Top 60 Most Powerful People in Healthcare in 2016, The Links, Inc., and The Choice Foundation’s Health and Human Services Award, and the United States Congressional Recognition for Dedication and Outstanding Community Service.

In her spare time, Dr. Cross enjoys participating in community outreach, volunteering at her church, riding bikes, dancing, listening to music, traveling and reading.
