Dr. Swaroopa Pulivarthi, MD

Dr. Swaroopa Pulivarthi earned her medical degree at Siddhartha Medical College, NTR University of Health Sciences in Andhra Pradesh, India, and an MBA at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. She completed her residency in neurology at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Va., where she served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Dr. Pulivarthi is board certified in neurology and eligible for board certification in clinical neurophysiology. She treats adults with neurological diseases.

Her practice style focuses on patient education, using easy-to-understand language to explain complex medical terms. She believes in providing compassionate care, answering questions and concerns from both the patient and family members. She takes time to listen carefully and explain clearly so patients don’t feel rushed. Before making medical choices and finalizing treatment plans, she provides her patients with up-to-date information and a comprehensive array of management options.

Dr. Pulivarthi is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.

In her leisure time, Dr. Pulivarthi enjoys spending time with her two daughters and son, bicycle riding, listening to music and traveling.

She is fluent in Telugu and Hindi.
