Dr. Ankit Patel, MD

Dr. Ankit Patel was born in India and relocated to Houston with his family at a young age. He graduated magna cum laude from The University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in philosophy. He completed his medical school, internship, neurology residency and fellowship in neurophysiology at McGovern Medical School UTHealth Houston.

Since completion of his training, Dr. Patel has been practicing in Katy, providing neurological care to Katy-area residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He treats a variety of neurological conditions with special interest in stroke and neuromuscular disorders and is licensed by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Dr. Patel has served as the stroke medical director and has been the chair of Neurology at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital since 2016. He also works with the Memorial Hermann Health System to help improve the quality of acute stroke care across its campuses.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American Academy of Neurology and the Harris County Medical Society.

He also is fluent in Gujarati.
