After finishing an undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Houston, Dr. Thuyvan Hoang earned her medical degree at Texas A&M University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in obesity medicine, at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Dr. Hoang is a board-certified specialist in obesity medicine and metabolic performance. She treats adult patients, 18 years and older. The focus of Dr. Hoang’s practice is individualized, patient-centered care and a comprehensive approach to treating obesity as a complex, chronic disease. Her patients describe her as a friendly, trustworthy and compassionate physician who provides great advice and care.

An assistant professor at McGovern Medical School, Dr. Hoang is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and The Obesity Society.

Dr. Hoang is married and resides in central Houston. In her leisure time, she enjoys karaoke, weightlifting, reading and playing pickleball.
