Dr. Sarwat Makkani, DO

Dr. Sarwat Makkani earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California San Diego and her medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. She competed her internship and residency in internal medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

In practice since 2014, Dr. Makkani is board certified in internal medicine. She treats adult patients (18 and older) and also speaks Spanish, Urdu, Gujarati and Punjabi. Her clinical interests include primary care, weight management, obesity medicine, chronic care and women's health.

Dr. Makkani believes in personalized, compassionate care that improves her patients’ overall quality of life. She likes to form partnerships with her patients and educate them about their diagnoses, conditions, tests and treatment plans. Her patients describe her as a skilled, courteous, thorough and knowledgeable physician who is a good listener and passionate about her role as a doctor.

She is a member of the American Medical Association, Obesity Medicine Association, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society and Imamia Medics International, an organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged communities worldwide by providing access to quality health care and education.
