Internal medicine specialist Dr. Remi Dosumu Agbe-Davies, who is board certified in both internal and geriatric medicine, treats patients 18 and older. After earning her medical degree from the University of the West Indies Medical School, she completed her residency in the Johns Hopkins University-Sinai Internal Medicine Program at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. She followed her residency with a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Dr. Agbe-Davies treats acute conditions, ranging from common coughs and colds to gastrointestinal problems, and chronic conditions, including obesity, diabetes, hypertension and asthma. One of her primary clinical interests is obesity medicine, which allows her to treat not only obesity, but also its common secondary complications—diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol.
Her approach to patient care is rooted in compassion and empathy. It is important, she believes, to listen to patients and explain things thoroughly so they understand what is going on and leave her office with a clear understand of the plan going forward.
One of the most rewarding parts of her practice is talking to patients, laughing with them, getting them motivated and seeing them leave with such a positive experience that they want to come back again.
Dr. Agbe-Davies is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, swimming, reading, listening to music and—especially--cooking and baking.
