Dr. Prashanth Peddi is a board-certified internal medicine specialist who has practiced as a hospitalist and clinician-educator since 2001. In addition to his board certification, he was elected as a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
Dr. Peddi earned his medical degree at Kakatiya Medical College of NTR University in Warangal, India. He completed post-graduate medical training at Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad, India, his residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University and a clinical/research fellowship in general internal medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also holds a diploma in echocardiology, as well as a certificate in patient safety from Johns Hopkins University Medical School.
He is experienced in evaluation, diagnosis and management of wide range of clinical problems such as Diabetes, Obesity, high Blood pressure, high Cholesterol, depression, fatigue, sleep problems, anxiety, upper respiratory infections, evaluation of joint pains, back pain, falls, headaches, migraine, meningitis, seizures, asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis, tuberculosis, palpitations, chest pain, gastroenteritis, dehydration, acute appendicitis, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, kidney failure, hematuria, kidney problems, blood in urine, urinary tract infections, atopic dermatitis, warts, staphylococcal skin infections, Sexually transmitted infections. He also had training in managing the side effects of cancer chemotherapy among patients undergoing different chemotherapies for various cancer.
Dr. Peddi’s primary research interests include patient safety, cost-conscious care, reducing hospital readmissions, improving patient satisfaction.
A combination of wanting to help others, a love of science and a keen interest in putting puzzles together inspired Dr. Peddi’s medical career. His approach to treatment involves a combination of formulating individualized treatment plans as per patient needs and providing evidence-based care. He considers both patients’ physical illnesses and psycho-social perspectives, putting all of the factors into context to demonstrably improve outcomes.
He enjoys building long-term relationships with his patients, he treats his patients as his own family members providing compassion and empathy. He wants his patients to feel that he takes extremely good care of them, listens to them, and addresses their concerns. He assists his patients to make good/right health care decisions by offering various treatment options. The most satisfying aspect of medical practice is the sense of joy/fulfillment he feels when patients recover or reach treatment goals.
