After earning her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, Halie Shah, MD, completed her medical degree at her alma mater, Texas A&M University College of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Banner Hospital System with the University of Arizona in Tucson. She then moved back to her hometown of Houston, and worked as an internist prior to joining Memorial Hermann Medical Group.
Dr. Shah was inspired to become a physician in high school when she was part of Health Occupations Students of American (HOSA), where she shadowed health care providers, and in college when she was part of Project Sunshine, an organization helping children with disabilities. These opportunities pushed her to choose a field where she could aspire academically while providing compassionate care.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Shah treats adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with both chronic and acute conditions. She performs annual physicals and manages patients with type 2 diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. She especially enjoys seeing her patients’ health improve over time. Dr. Shah’s goal is to provide compassionate, quality evidence-based health care while being an educator for her patients.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, along with reading, running and cooking.
