Dr. Cynthia Scott-Praisoody, MD

Dr. Cynthia Scott-Praisoody earned her undergraduate degree in economics at Baylor University in Waco and her medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where she also completed her residency.

Dr. Scott-Praisoody is board-certified in internal medicine. She sees adult patients for acute illnesses such as urinary tract infections or upper respiratory infections; chronic conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes and thyroid disease; and preventive care. Her clinical interests include preventive care and optimizing patients’ health, as well as endocrine disorders such as diabetes, menopausal symptoms and weight loss.

Her approach to patient care is grounded in listening, partnership and trust. Because she recognizes that health doesn’t exist in isolation, she sees her role not only as diagnosing and treating the disease but also getting to know the whole patient. Focusing on communication and education, she offers patients clear and concise medical information and honest conversation so they can make informed decisions.

Dr. Scott-Praisoody, who lives in Friendswood, is a member of the American College of Physicians.
