Dr. Candice Teunis earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from Emory University Medical School in Atlanta. She completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Utah and its affiliated hospitals, followed by a fellowship in hand surgery at the Hand Center of San Antonio.

In practice since 2005, Dr. Teunis is board certified in orthopedic surgery and specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery. She also treats sprains; fractures; complex regional pain syndrome; carpal tunnel syndrome; cumulative trauma disorders; arthritis; trigger finger; tendinitis; congenital anomalies; tendon lacerations; wrist pain; wrist disorders; elbow pain; elbow disorders; nerve disorders, injuries and compression syndromes of the upper extremity; and sports injuries related to the hand, wrist and elbow.

Her patients rate her very highly on her trustworthiness, as well as her ability to explain conditions and answer questions. They cite her cautious, but timely, approach to treatment and her frankness in helping patients understand what to expect.
