Dr. Michael Wood, MD

Houston native Dr. Michael Todd Wood received an undergraduate degree and an MBA from Rice University. He earned his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), where he also completed his internship and residency in surgery.

Dr. Wood, who has been in practice since 1996, is board certified in general surgery and specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. His clinical interests include various cancers, including colon, skin and breast cancers; hernia repair; laparoscopic fundoplication; and transoral incisionless fundoplication to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease. Dr. Wood also performs thyroid and parathyroid surgery, gallbladder removal and gastric neurostimulator placement for severe gastroparesis.
