Dr. Cristina Perez Viso, MD

Dr. Cristina Perez Viso earned her medical degree at Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas. She completed her internship and residency in general surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, as well as a minimally invasive and robotic surgery fellowship. She also completed a fellowship in surgical critical care at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.

Dr. Perez Viso is board certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care. She has been in practice since 2014 and is a native Spanish speaker. She treats disease processes of the abdominal wall and the gastrointestinal tract, including the stomach, gallbladder, small and large intestine. Among her primary clinical interests is the application of minimally invasive surgery and robotic techniques to general surgery conditions.

Dr. Perez Viso’s approach to care centers on creating a safe environment where patients can feel comfortable expressing their emotions and where she can answer all their questions honestly. Her goal is to dedicate time to educate her patients about their surgical condition, making sure the surgical options presented meet their specific needs.

Dr. Perez Viso is a member of the American College of Surgeons and Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.

On her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking and spending time with her dog, Samba.
