Dr. Cameron Ruttman, MD

A native of Liberal, Kansas, Dr. Cameron Ruttman earned his undergraduate degree at Kansas State University and his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed residencies in surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and Louisiana State University in Shreveport, followed by a clinical fellowship in surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Ruttman is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in abdominal surgery, particularly emergency medical conditions and trauma. His primary clinical interest is complex abdominal wall reconstruction, and he focuses on robotics and minimally invasive surgery.

His approach to care always puts the patient first. He collaborates closely with the patient’s referring doctor and other specialists, taking great care and time to review all of their studies, a process that can take more time than the actual patient examination.

Dr. Ruttman wants his patients to see him as a competent physician who takes good care of them, takes time to listen and fully understands their problems. His favorite part of practice is being in the operating room and working on the minimally invasive robotic platform, which, in his experience, results in less pain and a faster return to normal life.

Dr. Ruttman is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society.
