Dr. Sri Naveen Surapaneni earned his medical degree from the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India. He completed a residency and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, followed by a second fellowship in interventional endoscopy at UT Health San Antonio Medical School.
Dr. Surapaneni, who is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, treats patents 16 years and older and also speaks Hindi and Telugu. His clinical interests include abdominal pain, acid reflux, Barrett's esophagus, biliary obstruction, bleeding or blood in the stool, bloating, celiac sprue, colitis, colon cancer, colon polyps, constipation, Crohn's disease, diarrhea, gallbladder disease, liver disease, pancreas disease, diverticular disease, dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, h.pylori, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and ulcerative colitis.
His philosophy focuses on compassionate and patient-centered care. For the convenience of his patients, his one-stop practice offers extended office hours, a surgery center, GI imaging, capsule endoscopy, ultrasound, CT scans, an in-house pharmacy and research study options.
Dr. Surapaneni is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy and Harris County Medical Society.
A resident of Pearland, Dr. Surapaneni is married and the father of two boys and a girl. In his leisure time, he and his family like to ski and travel, especially to see national forests and museums. He's a fan of the Astros, Texans and Green Bay Packers.
