Dr. Michael Stavinoha, MD

Dr. Michael Stavinoha received his medical degree and completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Stavinoha has practiced medicine in Houston since 1990. His clinical interests include the colon, colon cancer screening, endoscopy, internal medicine, liver disorders, pancreatic disorders and ulcers.

Patients come first in Dr. Stavinoha’s practice philosophy. He is known for providing empathetic care to patients 18 years and older. He facilitates good patient-physician communication by spending as much time as needed listening carefully and answering questions. He speaks Spanish.

 Dr. Stavinoha is a member of the American GI Association, American Society of Gastro Endoscopy and Texas Medical Association. He currently serves as the medical director of GI endoscopy at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital.

A resident of the Galleria area of Houston, he enjoys tennis, snowboarding, surfing, yoga and reading in his spare time.
