Dr. Malan Shiralkar, MD

Dr. Malan Shiralkar was born in Oklahoma and grew up in the Houston area. She earned her undergraduate degree in health science studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Shiralkar completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago and a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Shiralkar sees patients ages 18 and older. In practice since 2014, she is trained in all aspects of general gastroenterology and hepatology. Her primary clinical interests include chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and women’s health.

Her practice philosophy centers on establishing therapeutic relationships with her patients and educating them so they can make informed decisions about their care.

Dr. Shiralkar is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Chronic Liver Disease Foundation, the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and the Harris County Medical Society.

A resident of Houston, Dr. Shiralkar is married to a physician and the mother of one child. When she is away from her practice, she enjoys playing tennis, cycling, reading and traveling.
