Dr. Jignesh Shah, MD

Dr. Jignesh P. Shah received his medical degree from Pramukh Swami Medical College in India. He then completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.  He was recognized as outstanding intern, team player, teacher and resident of the year, received the pediatric chairman’s achievement award and served as chief resident.

Board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, Dr. Shah offers patients advanced, comprehensive gastrointestinal care. He believes that compassion, kindness and total commitment to excellence are key to treating his patients.

Dr. Shah has clinical interests that include screening and treatment for colorectal cancer, heartburn and acid reflux, esophageal disorders and difficulty swallowing, peptic ulcers, H. pylori, gallstones and other gallbladder disorders, rectal bleeding and hemorrhoids, malabsorption and celiac disease, liver diseases such as hepatitis C, hepatitis B, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, hepatoma and liver cancer, abdominal pain, noncardiac chest pain, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, anemia, nausea and vomiting, gas, bloating and lactose intolerance.

Dr. Shah served as president of the Harris County Medical Society and is an active member of a number of professional medical societies.
